F3 – A TURNING POINT #MadeMyMark

I had my first win in a wings and slick category at Brands Hatch on the old GP circuit which is sadly rarely used these days. The F3 cars were pretty quick and I really enjoyed the year. I loved the car, the seating position, the great little team that Alan Docking ran; it was probably one of the best team atmospheres I’ve enjoyed to date.

My first success with wings and slicks was with Docko in F3.

My performances in an under-funded team attracted the interest of Norbert Haug of Mercedes who I had door-stopped at the previous year’s Australian Grand Prix. Mercedes supported the remainder of my F3 season and I also had a guaranteed future and a contract for the next year for the first time in my career.

I can’t wait for a book after you finish your racing career. So I don’t want to see it for 10 years. Looking forward to you in a Porsche first.
