Tenth on the grid to fourth at the flag, on a track where it’s notoriously difficult to overtake. That sentence sums up Mark’s Hungarian Grand Prix…

“I have good memories of racing in Hungary,” says Mark. “ I’ve had some decent results and scored a lot of points. It’s quite a tight and twisty track, but it’s very rewarding to drive in an F1 car.”

“Most importantly, I hope the guy’s okay; I’ve heard he was taken to hospital in Koblenz and I very much hope there’s no serious damage done” said Mark after the pit-lane incident in today’s German Grand Prix.

Mark heads to the Nurburgring, scene of his first Formula One victory, for this weekend’s German Grand Prix. “The track is quite enjoyable to drive,” says Mark. “It’s almost 30 years old, so it’s got some history of its own and it has quite a lot of character.”

This year’s British Grand Prix will always be memorable for Mark, following his retirement announcement on Thursday, but it almost became unforgettable on Sunday afternoon. He came to within 0.7s of winning the race, despite dropping to 15th place on the opening lap.
