Mark arrived at the Shanghai International Circuit on Thursday morning amid a flurry of camera flashbulbs.

“There’s a bit of history to this as well; my mind in the last 15 laps was thinking about a lot of things, but I was happy with the way I drove. I tried to isolate what happened at the end and we got something out of it today, but of course I’m not satisfied with the result,” says Mark after he ended up second in today’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

“It’s disappointing to finish fifth,” said Mark after missing out on a final shot at pole position in today’s qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. “We didn’t get the timing quite right in the last part of Q3, I thought I had more laps.”

Round two of the world championship in Kuala Lumpur is a completely different challenge to last weekend’s season-opener in Melbourne and it’s one that Mark relishes.

“I felt like I drove well all weekend,” Mark said, “so it was frustrating to come away so low down in the points. My goal was to finish on the podium, but things went against me from the start.”

“We had a few issues on the grid getting the telemetry from the car to the pits and we also lost KERS for the first part of the race,” said Mark after recovering to finish sixth in today’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
