Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that Mark Webber’s contract has been extended for another year, meaning the Australian will continue to drive for the team in 2012.

Mark Webber said: “I want to continue racing at the top in Formula One so it’s no-brainer to remain at Red Bull Racing for another year. My motivation to achieve the best results possible both for myself and the team is still very high. Over the past five years, we have worked hard and proved that we can design and build a competitive and championship-winning car, and I’m looking forward to putting the car and myself on the limit again each and every race weekend in 2012.”

Christian Horner said: “When we sat down and started talking about 2012, it was immediately obvious that Mark and the team wanted to continue our successful relationship. This meant agreeing an extension for 2012 was very straightforward. Mark knows the team well, having been with us since 2007, and
his motivation, fitness and commitment is as high as it has ever been. The pairing of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel is a very strong one, they push each other hard and we are extremely happy the pairing will remain unchanged for a fourth season.”

Congratulations on Porsche deal. Great news. Finally you will get the support you deserve. Don’t look back it’s all up from here. Let’s see how far Vettel gets with a less tolerant Kimi. Total respect for you not just as a driver but the super sportsman like attitude you have. You make us Aussies very very proud. Look forward to watching you bring it to the podium with Porsche.

Well than it is strange that this woman could told me that she was coming in contact with Mark thrue Fernando Alonso.
And that she’s going from next monday off to Hockenheim.
To meet up there with Mark,Sebastian and Christian Horner.
To talking over the contract for both the drivers.
Ans she told me also that mark did race last week in a BMW M3…
I thinking over all of this that it is very strange.
Do you wanna know more you can see my private email addres.

At Petra: I don’t understand your point of view, if you really were a fan, don’t mind if he don’t preach before its renovation, the reasons will be!
Mark is one of the pilots honored and faithful to his followers, and we have to support him all times, if Mark decide to renew with rb is that this comfortable. Although I believe that another team would be treated as the No. 1 driver … but we must support him.

Bert Moonen POSTED September 02nd, 2011

Well done Mark to signing with the RBR team again. All of Australia is proud of you and your gutsy determination race after race. Look forward to many more wins.

Dian POSTED August 31st, 2011

I’m happy, I can see you in 2012!!! :D

Petra POSTED August 30th, 2011

Hey Mark,
(did I get something wrong? Did I miss an important info?….)
Congratulation to your new contract with RBR. The whole summer I was hoping that you will sign for a further year with RBR and I was really happy, when I read the news about your new contract on Saturday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for a long time, that I was happy about that. When I recognised, that you signed the contract already 4 weeks ago, I thought, why did he keep it for himself? I was really disappointed about that but thought… ok… I can’t really know the reasons.
Few hours later, when I was still thinking about that, I remembered me about your last column. There was written, “…the August break gave me a good opportunity to have a chat with team principal Christian Horner about me continuing in 2012.” So it sounds like the contract is still open, isn’t it? But you already signed it, and knew you will stay with RBR at this moment.
What’s going on Mark? What is happened with you! You did lie in your own column?! Lot of gossip is going around every week, but I’m sorry Mark, I’m referring of a quote from an interview and of your own column. Here is nothing to find, what could be resulted in cut press stuff. I know, that you can’t tell everything the press and must be careful, like everybody. But I have never read or heard something from you, which was in the end a lie. I don’t get it. What did change? Yourself? Your management? Money? Politics? Pressure? What the f**** hell led to this statement in your own column! I mean, I really liked it to read some stuff from you. I didn’t really agree every time, but the good thing was every time, that I was sure that you tell YOUR opinion, your own view and that in an honest way.
I don’t know at the moment, whether I’m just frustrated and I will calm down and belong one of your fans or it is just the beginning of the end to be a fan of you, or did you maybe already lost a fan. I’m not sure, whether I will find a way to trust any of future your statements, or not.
But honestly, and it makes me really sad, I think there will be no way, to get the trust back. What did you do?! Take care Mark.
(… I really hope so, actually)

Mark Webber Site Manager POSTED September 01st, 2011

Petra,
Sorry to hear you feel that way. As you mentioned, of course, there are always things that can’t be said in the press due to sensitivity – even if you are a straight talking guy like Mark, that’s just the nature of the business. The press always want the inside story and often ask direct questions, Mark simply has to answer these the best he can while still honouring his agreements – and he’s well known for being one of the most no-nonsense guys in the F1 paddock despite this – in our books that makes him pretty great!

Viktoriya POSTED August 29th, 2011

Happy birthday,dear Mark!
It is great news for the birthday. The nature of the car RB is fully consistent with the character of driver:strong, brave and beautiful, you are made for each other!
I wish you new victorys, good healf and to win the title.

Tommo POSTED August 28th, 2011

Well called Mark and a happy belated birthday.

Continuing with RBR is the most logical thing to do despite the very apparent ups and downs we have seen. In the end you get the job done with the runs on the board with great consistency. My opinion would be to move to another team but sentiment is not something you can measure. I know you have a lot of that with RBR.

All the best mate, give them hell.
