‘Shit happens…’ Milton Keynes, UK, 3 June 2010, Getty Images
Red Bull Racing drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel met with Christian Horner, Adrian Newey and Dr. Marko at the Red Bull Racing factory today in Milton Keynes, UK.
It was a positive meeting, which draws a line under the incident that happened on lap 40 of the Turkish Grand Prix. The team is now fully focused on next week’s Canadian Grand Prix.
Sebastian Vettel: The team had got us into a great position and it wasn’t good for them what happened – so I’m sorry for them that we lost the lead of the race. Mark and I are racers and we were racing. We are professionals and it won’t change how we will work together going forward. We have a great team and the spirit is very strong. I’m looking forward to Canada.
Mark Webber: It’s a shame for the team, as we lost a good opportunity to win the race. It’s sport and these things can happen, but it shouldn’t have done. I feel for everyone at Red Bull, at the factory and everyone involved. Seb and I will make sure it doesn’t happen again and will continue to work openly together, no problem. We have talked enough on it now, it’s done, we’re looking ahead and I’m focused on the race in Canada next week.

“GO YOU” Markie.

Turkey was another race and you survived. We all know you are a true professional, and a True Blue Aussie…..I will be willing your win tbhis weekend…..you know you can do it!!! Jane in Melbourne.
Definitely all class Mark!
You have always remained composed and truly the absolute professional. My respect for you went up a notch straight after the Turkey race.
I have this feeling though, that perhaps Red Bull became nervous after their obvious bias towards Vettel and became rather anxious to resign you quickly. How I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during those intense meetings.
Good on yah mate. True class..
It’s abundantly clear to all who watched the race that Vettel had a major brain fade and caused the accident. Mark, you showed class and sportsmanship and deserve the championship in 2010.
Mark, the F1 world now know’s who their #1 boy is, you are 100% in the right and handled this perfectly, anyway, get out while you can!
Vettels fault not yours m8.Keep up the good work.
Greatings from Portugal
Greatings from Portugal Mark.
Im a great fan of F1 since i was a teenager and now im 42 so ive seen enough to know that was not your fault on the crash with Vettel.Vettel is the one to be blamed and its a shame to see that the team is protecting is back just because is German…comercial prioritys maybe? But m8 keep the good work i will be suporting from Portugal.
Mark, your the man!!! Continue doing what you have done so far and only good things will come your way. RESPECT …
Wipe the floor with them all in Canada Webbo. You have exemplified class on and off the track, particularly in Turkey. All the best mate, you deserve every ounce of success!
Mark, I hope the disappointment in Turkey just inspires you that little bit more to win the world championship. Just keep doing your best for yourself and YOUR team. Lets hope you can still string torether 3 wins in a row this year to clinch the title. You deserve it!
Hmmm. The only people publically blaming someone were the team principals. They were the ones that brought the team under fire… and Vettel. I think they need to come out and apologise to Mark for their public comments. Mark remained the gentleman and kept his comments private – even under intense questioning by the media. Can’t say the same for the team. They need to take a leaf out of Mark’s book of how to act professionally!
It was clear to see that you held your line.Hold of signing that knew contract, its clear who redbull favour.
Mark, don’t get distracted by this event. Every driver is your rival right now, so stay focused on the big prize at the end of the year and we’ll all be celebrating with you !
GOOD LUCK MARK – “You can do it” By the end of the year you’ll be our 3rd World Champ, GO MARK, dont look back.
You said it Mark, good onya mate”That’s Motor Racing”
Bloody Helmut Marko I always admired in the Porsche 917 days, he is a fossil now, GO GET EM MATEY
Keep up the great work Mark, you are driving unbelievably well at the moment. Class of the field.
Vettel the next Schumacher????? I hope not. He ( Schumacher ) is a bad sport and a sore loser. ie, parking your car in the middle of the track after qualifying first hence preventing anyone from getting a better time. The sport is too good for this type of getup. Only time will tell.
Reminds me of the Damon / Shumacher battles of old. Made for good telly. Just make sure you come out on top Mark. Best wishes for the Championship.
It’s killing Vettel that he is not as quick as you at the moment. This is the bloke many call the next Schumacher. He’s not looking like that at the moment. Go get ‘em Mark. Great stuff.
well done Mark. We all saw the footage and we all know exactly what happened and who is to blame, so keep focussed on winning. Foot to the floor!!!!
Paolo from Perth
I’ll add my salutations to those that consider you are the only one to come out of this mess with integrity. The problem is that the Red Bullies have nailed their colours to the mast so watch your back. All the very best for the future.

I’ll add to those who commented that the only one to come out of Turkey with any integrity was you..But the Red Bullies have nailed their colors to the mast so watch your back! How about Renault next year or is it too late. All the best.

You’ll freaking beat him again in Montreal, Mark!!!!!
Come on!
It’s great to see how professional both drivers are especially after such an incident.
Keep going guys and may the best man win !

Just beat Vettel the spoilt brat. So glad to see you win at Silverstone.
