Hi Mark, I met you nearly 11 years ago getting off a plane at Bangkok airport on our way back from UK to Australia. We spoke for a while and you showed me photos of your recent test with Arrows. We had a great chat you were more than happy for me to have a photo with you. I remember wishing you the best of luck in your career and we parted. I remember wishing you luck again at the baggage claim in Sydney and I have watched your career with keen interest ever since, been to every Australian GP you raced, and had countless late nights every Australian F1 fan has to endure watching a season’s races. As far as I’m concerned you are the 2010 Champ already. If it was down to zero politics in teams, Alonso would have not been able to overtake Massa in Germany for extra points, your running positions during qualifying (who goes first and last) would have not been compromised, and there would have been less media hype about yours and Seb’s relationship.

Show ‘em how to be better than that in the last race, mate. Let your driving do the talking. Rise above it all, win or not, and show us all your class and dignity.

I know there’s talk about next year being your last, but I’d love to see a year or two of you mentoring Daniel Ricciardo if he gets a spot in 2012. I’m also super stoked that you’ll be in Perth later this year. Got my ticket already .

being from aus ive spent many a late sunday night watchin you. im sure you want this wdc more than your fans ever could. we’ve watched you since minardi days but you have been getting ready for this your whole life. all the bad luck in your career will be paid back in these last two races. your first podium when you got 3rd at monaco should have been 2nd, your team stuffed your pitstop and put you behind your own teamate, heidfeld. i thought you would beat lewis at fuji for your 1st win then toro rosso vettel takes you out. driving uncompetitive cars then finally getting a good one at the back end of your career, IT IS YOUR TIME. you will win the 2010 wdc then go on to win the 2011 wdc and retire a 2 time champ. no matter what im am proud of you so good luck. Can you clarify why Seb was not penalised for what I thought was a clear gap between him and the pace car which wa more than 10 car lengths. I’m sure it would have have been somthing like 100m through the essses

I have been fan of yours since you first race in Australia for Minardi.

It has been a long difficult road, and for sure it takes its toll.

Now for the 3 last races, this is what will separate the men from the kids…and I know that you have that challenging attitude to make it happen…as you said, you only need one more win, the rest will be consistency…you are almost a third place ahead of everyone, which is awesome, still the job needs to be done, so for those 3 races, best of courage and determination, luck will give you the reward you deserve.
