Mark is the only news story in town ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix. This morning he announced his decision to leave Formula One at the end of this year, and he’s been the focus of media attention ever since.

Following the announcement that Mark Webber has signed with Porsche to join their WEC and Le Mans 24 Hr team campaign in 2014 and beyond, www.markwebber.com asked him the burning questions.

The Australian Formula 1 pilot Mark Webber has signed a contract with Porsche to contest the WEC and Le Mans that extends over several years.

“We lost some time with Nico in the first stint, and the car was getting hot behind him in the slip stream” said Mark after finishing fourth in the Canadian Grand Prix, “Once I got in free air, the car was handling much better.”

Mark drove a typically tenacious race in Montreal to finish the Canadian Grand Prix in fourth place.

“That was quite tricky for everyone,” said Mark after ending up fifth fastest for tomorrow’s Canadian Grand Prix. “It’s a bit of a mixed grid and I would have liked to have been a bit more comfortable than fifth, but in the end it’s what we got.”

“It’s a tricky circuit, especially when it’s a bit green and there’s not much rubber on track,” says Mark after a strong showing on the first day of practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. “The first session was wet, but we got some information on all of the tyres at the end there in FP2.”

After two races in Europe, Mark heads to Montreal this weekend for the Canadian Grand Prix.

I’ve enjoyed quite a lot of close racing with Lewis this year,” says Mark. “It was good that we got through Rascasse safely and I’m not quite sure how we did that because it’s very narrow and there’s usually only one line. I was able to use KERS at the exit to ensure I stayed ahead.”
