CAR 1, SEBASTIAN VETTEL
First Practice Session: Position: 1, Best Time: 1:22.723, Laps: 19
Second Practice Session: Position: 1, Best Time: 1:21.264, Laps: 34
“The car feels okay, but there’s always a lot of work to do and there’s some room for improvement. My long run wasn’t completely clean, as we had to abort it at the start due to the brakes being a bit hot, but you work to find the limit. I don’t think the tyres feel massively different, but they are a step in the right direction. “

CAR 2, MARK WEBBER
First Practice Session: Position: 2, Best Time: 1:22.982, Laps: 24
Second Practice Session: Position: 2, Best Time: 1:21.308, Laps: 42
“The tyres feel quite similar to those used previously; we got a feeling already from Silverstone. It went well today and I’m happy, the car felt good and the team did a great job. Sunday is the main thing; qualifying is important, but Sunday is what we have to focus on. It’s a demanding circuit and the conditions are set to stay the same, so I don’t think we’ll be changing a huge amount tonight.”

AND FINALLY
The summer break’s just around the corner and everyone’s looking forward to banking a few golden memories of sun-kissed beaches or relaxing days at home. But, things don’t always go according to plan, as Mark and Christian reveal…

Mark Webber: “My worst holiday memory? It was a trip to Bora Bora about ten years ago. Ann had always wanted to go, but it took a really, really long time to get there – I think it was the furthest place on the globe that we could have travelled to. On arrival our hotel wasn’t what we expected at all; the weather was crap the whole time and I’m pretty sure they were shooting a porno in the villa next to us. Everything that should have been nice just wasn’t. It was just one of those trips; we ended up coming back early and haven’t been back since!”

Christian Horner: “I was 19 years old and took my first girlfriend camping in Port Grimaud. It was supposed to be a romantic trip to the French Riviera, but unfortunately about 25,000 people had had the same idea and we were pitched next to tents full of people belching and farting. We complained that the tent seemed quite dirty, so a worker from the campsite threw a bucket of water into it – and so that was it cleaned! As you can imagine, it wasn’t a success, I think we split up pretty soon afterwards.”

Mark, unfortunately you decided to leave F1 and unfortunately you have not become a champion, although you are worthy it. I wish you good luck in all you performances.

It was announced prior to the British Grand Prix that Mark will be leaving F1 for the World Endurance Championship with Porsche, so yes 2013 will be Mark’s last season in F1 and with RBR.
