SEASON 1997
Mark immediately formed a strong partnership with fellow Aussie Alan Docking. His desire to learn complemented Alan’s experience on the pitwall and they won their fourth race together, on the formidable Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Mark went on to finish the year fourth overall in the British Championship, by which time his speed and tenacity had come to the attention of Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug.
